Stage Write

Stage Write is a writing initiative run by Liverpool’s Royal Court to support and develop new writing for the stage.

Regular showcase nights are held in our intimate Studio space, at which a selection of excerpts rehearsed and performed by a cast of professional actors. Work may be from brand new writers, or from established playwrights looking to try out new ideas.

You can submit scripts to Stage Write at any time, by emailing stagewrite@liverpoolsroyalcourt.com

We ask that submitted scripts are written for theatre (not TV or film). Scripts must have page numbers and the writer’s name on each page. Please ensure that your cover page clearly displays your name, the title of your play and the date on which your current draft was completed. Please also include a list of characters before the first scene of your script.

Your work will be read and we will respond letting you know if we would like to take it any further.

We receive a large number of submissions so please be patient when awaiting a response.
